Keeping our beaches clean and protecting the marine environment

At USS we have been reviewing our green credentials, working towards minimal waste and maximum recycling.  As part of these responsibilities and bearing in mind our links to the marine industry, we are excited to announce we have joined the Big Blue Ocean Cleanup non-profit organisation.   We pledge to help rid Cornwall’s beautiful beaches of unwanted waste which is so damaging to vulnerable marine animals.

As Ocean activists, our team joins a network of volunteers across the globe helping to keep local marine environments clean, preventing species extinction and fighting climate change.  We are currently planning our first beach clean in Hayle, Cornwall and will report back on our findings.

James Williams MD of USS said ‘Whilst out on the sea conducting surveys, I have seen first-hand, the awful effects humanity and the waste it produces, is having on the marine environment. USS’s first beach clean up will hopefully see the beginning of our journey to educate and encourage others to think about how their actions affect the world around us’.
